Station / Estación # 51: Camarones

Hace buen rato que me intriga el nombre de esta estación.  Quiero decir que no puedo imaginar que puede existir una estación con tal nombre en Inglés.

Aparentemente lleva este nombre por un pueblo cercano del mismo nombre donde pasa un rio con, sí adivinaste bien, camarones!

Así por fin llegar alla para saber qué onda fue bueno.

Y hay mucho que ver!

Chicharrón burbujea a perfección crujiente, organilleros dan un toque al ambiente callejero, La Casa de Cultura tiene murales de Arturo García Bustos y una exposición en homenaje a Gabriel Vargas.

Hasta podrías ver a Hugo Chavez cenando!

I’ve been intrigued by the name of this station for a while.  I mean, can you imagine a station called Shrimp or Prawns?

Apparently it gets its name from a nearby town where a river passes through with, yep, you guessed it, shrimp!

So it was good to finally get there and find out what it is all about.

And there is a lot going on and a lot to see!

Chicharron bubbles away to crispy perfection, Organ grinders add to the street ambience, the Cultural Centre hosts murals by Arturo García Bustos and an exhibition in homage to Gabriel Vargas.

You could even see Hugo Chavez dining!
