La ‘Carnaval 2012’ de Santa Martha Acatitla está por empezar!

Estuve en Acatitla unos dias antes del principio de la carnaval pero llegué por casualidad a un evento de inicio pre-carnaval.

Los rockeros vestidos de negro estaban ahi en fuerza, sus chelas en bolsas de plástico y listos para festejar!

Un poco de Heavy Metal para calentar las orejas!

Un poco de arte callejero, una bandera de México pintada.  Viva Mejico!

Hay una iglesia tranquila y rústica cerca si quisieras agarrar un momento de serenidad en reflexión piadosa o ateísta.

Los diez mandamientos, tallados en lápidas, en español e inglés, lado a lado, ofrecen consejo noble así que por qué tiene que ser que el cristianismo y otras religiones causan tantos problemas?

The Santa Martha Acatitla ‘Carnaval 2012’ is about to kick off!

I was in Acatitla a few days too early for the carnival proper but I stumbled upon a pre-carnival warm up event.

The black-clad metal crew were out in force, beers emptied into plastic bags and ready to rock!

A little Heavy Metal to warm up the ears!

Throw in a bit of street art, a painted Mexican flag.  Viva Mejico!

There is a tranquil and rustic little church should you want to snatch a moment or two of serenity in devout or atheistic reflection.

The ten commandments, etched on tablets, in Spanish and English, side by side, proffer some noble moral advice so why is it that Christianity and other religions cause so many problems on this mortal crust of earth?
