Since midnight last night the southern section of line 12 has been closed due to safety concerns. Maintenance will be carried out on the elevated section of the track rendering 11 stations out of operation.
So with just 3 stations left to update this project I can not ride the metro to visit them. Free buses are replacing trains in this section of the line. Overwhelming numbers of passengers today fought to board them. Will I also fight my way on in order to complete this project by any means possible? It is likely. The estimated period of closure is 6 months. I am very keen to finish this project. Stay tuned.

MEXICO CITY METRO PROJECT 
Así es Peter, afortunadamente yo regresé a mi anterior ruta de taxqueña, es de locos utilizar la Ruta 100 en horas pico.
¡Volver al pasado ! Por cuanto tiempo, 6 meses o quizá un 1 año? en realidad nadie lo sabe.
Línea Dorada 12 , cuanto nos duro el gusto, muy poco, mmm. hay que ser optimistas.
Ahora es complicado transportarse hacia esos terruños, extrañaré ver a las alturas los amaneceres frescos cuando el viento soplaba, raro en esta Ciudad pero no imposible , divisar aquellas montañas pobladas de casas y edificios o los atardeceres ocultándose el sol en las montañas, realmente bellos. Por ahora no será posible.
Por lo que he visto los buses que están reemplazando el servicio de metro en esta parte de la linea no son suficientes por la cantidad de pasajeros. Ojalá resuelvan los problemas rapidamente y podemos volver a usar y disfrutar de esta linea esperada y necesitada.
Considero que nunca debieron abrir la linea 12 al público, ya que había una inseguridad latente al no estar construidos los carriles a la medida de las llantas de los trenes, por suerte de todos hasta el momento no hubo algún accidente que lamentar, que falta de profesionalismo y de ética por parte de los arquitectos y de las autoridades, una vez más pone entre dicho la mala calidad de los transportes y de las obras así como de las gestiones administrativas en nuestro país.
Menos mal que no hubo accidente, sí tienes razón. Puedo entender la ira y frustración de la gente, sobre todo ellos que usan la linea en sus movimientos diarios.
It doesn’t affect me in my daily commute either so I can’t complain too much. I can understand why so many people are angry, especially those who use the line to go to work, school, university etc. As far as my project goes I think I will visit the stations in the next couple of weeks anyway. It will be strange not arriving via metro but most of what I focus on is around the stations rather than the stations themselves so the project will go on!

Right, when I heard the news yesterday night, I thought first of all of your project. Of course, I’d be much angrier were that to affect me in my everyday movement 😉 I go three times a week from Copilco to quite near the Culhuacán station, but I go by bike. Maybe I’ll be pissed when the wet weather comes? 🙂
